Environmental Shipping Incentive

Effective 1 January 2019, NSW Ports launched an Environmental Incentive for ships. This program offers a rebate to ships based on environmental performance and highlights NSW Ports’ commitment to the promotion of efficient operations and sustainable modes of freight transport. Read more here.

To be eligible for a rebate, ships must be registered with the international Environmental Ship Index (ESI) with a score of over 20 and submit a NSW Ports Emissions Control Questionnaire. Qualifying vessels shall receive a rebate on their port charges.
