We are committed to the principles of sustainable development and by operating and developing our Ports and Intermodal Terminals in an environmentally responsible manner, we will ensure their long-term viability.

Information about development, maintenance and tenant related services can be found in the sections below.

Undertaking Development

With the majority of NSW Ports lands tenanted through leasing arrangements, there are various planning approval pathways for any proposed development works.

The following steps outline the process for consultation and seeking approval from NSW Ports as the landlord, as well as any other relevant authorities (where applicable).

Online Information Portal

The Online Information Portal is a secure way for tenants and port users to access to key documents and information published by NSW Ports that may be used for reference. 

The following types of information are accessible:

  • Operations manuals;
  • Emergency management plans, including Precinct Emergency Response and Incident Management Plans (ERIMPs);
  • Overarching environmental management plans;
  • Operational drawings (e.g. hazardous area drawings); and
  • Minutes of meetings hosted by the NSW Ports Operations and Environment Team.

Tenants and port user with an operational need to access this information are welcome to register for access by clicking on the button below.

Please note: that access to information is based on your permissions which is allocated according to location and areas of operation.

Maintenance Requests

NSW Ports is committed to providing you, our tenants with prompt and professional facility management services. Your NSW Ports contact will step you through the onboarding process including gaining access to the maintenance request system which allows you to submit new maintenance job requests online. These are then automatically dispatched to our infrastructure team for action. After submitting your work request, you will be kept up-to-date on the status of the job by a NSW Ports representative.

Oversize Vehicle Operation

Port Kembla Oversize Vehicle Operation

You must seek approval before operating a vehicle above a berth load limit.

If this need arises:

Security

Port & Intermodal Security

You must hold a current Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) for access to all NSW Ports Maritime Security Zones. This card can be applied for through a number of independent third party organsiations including the following:

Reporting Incidents and Hazards

Reporting Incidents and Hazards

All incidents, near misses and hazards must be reported within 24 hours of the event.

An incident is a near miss or actual event that results in, or could result in:

  • injury
  • illness
  • damage or loss.

A hazard is anything with the potential to cause harm (injury/illness, damage etc).
