The Enfield Intermodal Lookout is open during daylight hours. 

The Eastern Breakwater is open for public access generally between the hours of dawn and dusk, but will be closed during adverse weather conditions and during certain port operations.

Wave activity is also monitored on a daily basis in the interest of community safety.

The Northern Breakwater is open to the public for pedestrian access only via Coniston Beach and the footpath along Seawall Road. NSW Ports has completed upgrades to facilitate pedestrian access. Public access is not permitted via Port Kembla Road due to safety requirements and the need to maintain separation from coal terminal operations. . Exiting Northern Breakwater and Seawall Road/Groyne must also be via Coniston Beach for public safety reasons.
