James Bartlett
ALTERNATE DIRECTOR
James has been an Alternate Director of NSW Ports since December 2025.
He is a Senior Investment Director responsible for investment management activities across AustralianSuper’s real assets portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.
Mr. Bartlett has more than 20 years of experience at leading global investment firms, spanning equity and debt real assets strategies across the full risk-return spectrum. Prior to joining AustralianSuper, Mr. Bartlett held senior roles at HSBC Asset Management and at DWS. Earlier in his career, Mr Bartlett held investment roles at Blackstone, Colonial First State Global Asset Management, and LaSalle Investment Management.
Mr. Bartlett holds a Bachelor of Business Management and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Institute of Australasia and has completed the Real Estate Management Program at Harvard Business School. Mr Bartlett is a Certified Practising Accountant, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Justice of the Peace (QLD), and a Licensed Real Estate Agent (NSW).
